Pupil VOice and Leadership
Responsibilities and roles within the school is a popular way to engage pupil voice. School councils and pupil voice groups usually work on the basis of one or two representatives per class meeting regularly as a group. They bring issues to school leadership and input into some of the school decision-making processes.
Children and young people can offer unique perspectives on what it is like to be a pupil at their school; involving them in decision-making can create meaningful change and better academic outcomes, as well as facilitating a sense of empowerment and inclusion.
