Safeguarding is part of our curriculum

Your child's safety is our top priority. We integrate safeguarding into our daily teaching to ensure every pupil feels secure and informed.

How We Support Your Child

  • A Tailored Curriculum: Through our PHSE program (Jigsaw), children learn about safety and healthy relationships at an age-appropriate level.

  • Responsive Support: While we teach in classrooms, we also provide 1:1 or small-group support for sensitive topics when a specific need arises.

  • Online Safety: We teach digital citizenship in every year group and quickly address emerging online trends or issues.

  • Expert Partnerships: We collaborate with parents and external experts—including the community police and SARI—to address local challenges and keep our community safe.

Empowering Our Pupils

We teach our children how to make safe choices and provide them with multiple ways to voice their concerns.

  • Daily Awareness: Through assemblies and regular reminders, pupils learn school safety protocols, such as identifying staff and visitors by their lanyards.

  • Trusted Support: Every child is encouraged to identify "trusted adults" in school they can talk to if they feel unhappy or unsafe.

  • Accessible Outlets: Classrooms are equipped with Worry Boxes, "Cuddle Teddies," and "Worry Monsters" to help children share their feelings comfortably.

  • Holiday Support: We ensure pupils know how to contact Childline so they have access to support even when school is closed.
