Easton Jamia Mosque
Year 6 were overwhelmed by how beautiful they felt Easton Jamia Mosque was. That’s something they certainly wouldn’t have got by watching a video or reading a book about it! Attending the mosque in person enabled them to fully understand why a mosque is designed in the way that it is. They were grateful for the opportunity to ask inquisitive questions about life as a Muslim and how their faith is expressed. This trip enriched their curriculum by stimulating many conversations around their own opinions and beliefs.
Year 1 learning about what you might see in a Church and why. The majority of this year group hadn’t seen inside a place of worship for any religion so they found it really fascinating and showed a really high level of respect!
Year 5 learning about the Christmas story by visiting different stations around St Nicholas’ Church.
Our entire school took part in the virtual event with other schools in the area. Here is an example of some beautiful hidden meaning cubes that Year 6 created after listening to a Humanist story with Matt Evans.
